Features & Benefits of IP CCTV
Traditional analogue surveillance technology - CCTV has been used for over 20 years and is now increasingly being replaced by the more efficient IP technology surveillance solutions.
CCTV users now face a choice...
|
Between a new modern digital IP Surveillance system, delivering quality digital images that can be viewed and stored anywhere in the world over a computer network. |
|
Or replacing your existing traditional analogue system, which provides low-resolution images with restricted viewing access and includes storage equipment that deteriorates with age. |
Advantages of IP CCTV over Traditional Systems
Usage or Re-usage of the Existing Network Infastructure
By using the exisiting network infastructure installation time should be reduced as well as the on-going maintenance costs. If you also think about this with a viewpoint to future growth of the system. By using the network any new cameras need only to be connected to the nearest access point. Traditionally a new cable would have to be run from the new camera to the control equipment. IP CCTV by default provides advanced flexibility.
Control Multiple Sites from a Single Location
IP CCTV Systems can now be designed that allow communication, administration and Monitoring of several sites from a remote location. This is especially useful for larger multi-site organisations that would like to consolidate security functions.
Tight Integration into Other Systems such as Access Control and Intruder Alarms
Being based on Software makes integration easier. This offers clients single click access to the information from many systems pulled together into a single accessable libary of information. For example in Access Control Integration it is possible to click on a door open event and view the associated CCTV image of the person opening the door.
Intelligence at the Front End
IP Cameras are more intelligent than their analogue predessors. Movement detection and camera setup is stored with the camera rather than at the main control equipment. This allows savings on the bandwidth and also saves the main control unti having to do all the work.
Improved Picture Quality
By using digital cameras, digital images and digitial transmission the quality of images is far higher thean previous systems.
Software Controls & Access
Using software control it is possible to restrict access to areas of buildings and also to specific camera's. This can be done for single users or for groups of users.
Control Room Monitoring and Event management
With IP systems it is still possible to have control room monitoring from certified ARC (Alarm Receiving Center). They can provide 24hr, 365 days cover to your premises using event monitoring and perimeter protection.
Software Upgrade Path
With traditional systems the limiting factor was the number of cameras that can be connected to the control equipment. This is no longer the case. Cameras are independant on the network and do not connect to control equipment. If there is central monitoring software then additional license can be purchased or software upgrade performed.
