Intruder & Burglar Alarms
Intruder alarms are now viewed as a mature technology forming the basis of Security in Business and domestic properties. Changes to Policies by the Police and British Standards have introduced more legislative measures for the control of false alarms and for Police response.
Insurance Requirements
By matching the tough standards for Alarm installation, our clients receive a certified system that will entitle them to a discount from most insurance firms. This can be dependant on the Individual insurer and also the category of system that is installed.
Installation
We can install most types of intruder alarm systems to any property type. We aim to minimise disruption and to ensure the system is concealed as much as possible. In some cases we recommend using a wireless alarm system depending on the building type. This can be advantageous in new build properties if the installation happens after the decoration is complete.
Some of the main manufacturers we use are Honeywell Galaxy, Veritas and Scantronic. The Honeywell Galaxy alarm system is now the best selling in the UK due to the features and flexibility. Please follow this link for further information.
Remote Alarm Monitoring
One of the options for an intruder alarm is to have 24hr Monitoring on the system from your home or premises to a Alarm Receiving Centre. This excellent cost effective service provides security in the knowledge that if your alarm goes off then there will definitely be a reaction within a few moments. The trained operates in the receiving station will deal with the alarm and take the appropriate action that will include calling the Police or the main key holder.
Annual Monitoring for an Intruder Alarm comes at a price of only £80 per year !
This is a small price to pay for all year round monitoring that can cover situations while you are simply out or when you are on holiday.
Police Response & False Alarms
The ACPOS policy sets out standards for Police response to an intruder alarm. In general the Police will only respond to an Intruder Alarm if there has been confirmation a crime is being committed. This can be verified by the usage of confirmation technology within the alarm system and the services of an Alarm Monitoring Centre (ARC) to verify.
In general Police response will be withdrawn if continual false alarms are encountered. To re-establish site response the intruder alarm will have to be upgraded to confirmation technology and confirmed by an approved Supplier. King Communications been approved by SSAIB to do this.
Maintenance
Once your Burglar Alarm is installed we provide one year free warranty. That includes all parts & labour but does exclude damage by severe weather and deliberate damage. We have faith in our ability to provide a stable and well installed system and we are sure you will agree once you have worked with us.
Once the first year is up we will invite you into an annual maintenance contract. This will be dependant on the size and complexity of your alarm system but it is not our policy to tie you into long contracts with few escape clauses.
