Network Access Control

PC Networked Access Control

PC based access control offers central control, via a network. This means that commands given at the PC are sent to each of the doors. A token can be barred from all of the doors instantly. Another benefit of this type of system is flexible control, allowing you to grant different permissions for individuals or groups of users.

Reports may also be generated to see who went where and when. Many systems allow control of additional buildings via existing LAN/WAN. PC based systems are increasingly being used to control other services within buildings, for example intruder alarms, fire doors, lifts and lighting.

Timezone and Access Levels

What does complete flexibility mean ?

PC based Access control gives greater flexibility of staff through the usage of timezones and Access Levels. It is possible to set an access level containing only a few doors, that will only be available during a set period of specific days. Many access levels can be created with the results applied to an individual or a group of users. It is possible to alter the access level to a group from the PC very quickly and effectively giving far greater control and flexibility.

An example of this may be within a factory security system.

Factory staff may be required to have access to offices in standard office hours only. The factory staff may have access levels that allow office access from 8am to 6pm, but access to factory areas at all times. This will limit the usage of the office area to a period when the office is manned reducing any riisk to the organization assets.
